The UFC heads to Calgary, Alberta this weekend for UFC 149 (July 21, 2012), and features a bantamweight interim championship between Urijah Faber and Renan Barao. Both of these fighters have been on a hot streak as of late, and they both will be looking for the victory in order to challenge Dominick Cruz later on down the road. Renan Barao is currently on a 29 fight win streak, and seems to be unstoppable as of late. Will Faber be the first man to give Barao his first loss? Time will only tell, but this should be exciting from start to finish.
Also on the card is a compelling middleweight match up between former Bellator middleweight champion Hector Lombard and rising star Tim Boestch. Both of these stars have knockout power in both hands. Knockout of the night is written all over this fight.
Lombard is transitioning to the UFC for the very first time, which is something many fans have been clamoring about for years now. Fans will finally get to see this happen when he steps inside the cage with heavy hitter Tim Boestch, who is coming off an amazing comeback KO win over Yushin Okami.
Other compelling fights on the card include Cheik Kongo vs. Shawn Jordan, Brian Ebersole vs. James Head, and Chris Clements vs. Matthew Riddle. Fans should expect an entertaining night of fights, and the main event has the makings to be an all out war.
