Anderson Silva TKO's Chael Sonnen

Anderson Silva did exactly what he said he was gong to do. He weathered the early storm of Sonnen, which saw him spend the majority of the round on his back trying to escape the ground and pound of Sonnen.

It looked like things were going to play out exactly as the first fight, but then the second round began.  Silva would come back in the second round and defend Sonnen's take downs nicely.    Sonnen tried relentlessly to get the fight to the ground and took a few shots in the process.

Silva would then go on to rock Chael and follow it up with punches until the ref was forced to step in during the second round. It all started off with a knee to the body when Sonnen was on the ground, and the Spider finished it off in impressive fashion.

Credit to Chael for selling the fight, which is something no one has done in the UFC like he has done.  He certainly deserved this title shot, and it will be interesting to see where he goes from here.  Win, loose, or draw I will always be a Chael Sonnen fan because he comes to fight every night.

Silva remains undefeated inside the UFC, and is without a question the best mixed martial artist in the game and maybe the best that we will ever see.   This win certainly added to the already impressive resume of Silva, and it looks like he is now without a worthy challenger.

Who can really beat this legend of a man?  Jon Jones, maybe, but it looked like these two apparently were friends when the shook each other's hands before Silva entered the octagon.  So who is left for the spider?  Dan Henderson said he wants another crack at him.  Michael Bisping has went on record saying he would like to fight Anderson, but time will only tell.  It is clearly evident that Silva is the best mixed martial artist that we have ever seen, and it is always an honor to see his superior striking skills.

Silva brought the belt back home to Brazil, and defended his honor, his family's honor, and the honor of his country. Terrific showing from both of these fighters in what was one of the biggest fights in UFC history. That's a wrap folks.
